Bollywood has always been famous for evicting the emotions of the viewers, making me a fan of their movies. Horror is a subgenre of Bollywood that has always maintained a special place in my heart. I recently learned that the well-known Hindi channel Voot has been actively adding horror-related content to its collection. I watched some movies that I thought were really worth sharing, therefore I made a list of the top horror movies on Voot that you have to see in 2023.

1920 (2008)
I still remember people getting obsessed with the songs of this movie when it came out. After all the romance in the movie was like none other. Due to Lisa’s affiliation with a different religion, Arjun marries her much to the embarrassment of his family. When Lisa is attempted to be burned alive, Arjun disowns his family and faith. Arjun, an architect, travels to Palampur with Lisa to oversee the conversion of a mansion into a hotel.
The last architect to attempt to assume control perished inexplicably. Lisa experiences weird occurrences, and when Arjun is away Lisa seeks the assistance of a local priest, Father Thomas, who informs her that there is a strong ghostly presence in the house. Arjun takes control of the mansion but is oblivious to the supernatural things happening nearby. When Arjun gets back, he discovers that the chief priest has confirmed that the spirit intends to attack Lisa.

After losing her old phone in an accident, Thejaswini, a young woman, purchases a cheap phone. She soon begins to be terrorized by a wicked supernatural being over the phone, prompting her to call for assistance.

Raa Raa (2018)

Bhoot Part One – The Haunted Ship (2020)
Caution: You might be left with goosebumps long after this movie ends. Meera is having her third birthday on the commercial ship Sea Bird in 2001 when a ghost begins to haunt her. In 2012, eleven years later, the abandoned ship Sea-Bird washes up on Mumbai’s Juhu Beach. Prithvi is designated as the officer in command of the ship’s salvage. After losing his wife Sapna and daughter Megha in an accident, he is depressed.
Prithvi experiences hallucinations of his family and notices odd occurrences on the ship. The ship’s owner informs him of the legend of the haunting, but Prithvi is skeptical until he interacts with the ghost in person.

The plot twist occurs when Arjun learns that Hebah is also possessed and that someone is living within her body controlling everything she does.
When yet another character named Amala (Nanditha Swetha) approaches Arjun and claims to be the one responsible for all of this, things only get worse for him. Why is there so much confusion? Who is Amala, exactly? Why does she trail Arjun? Does this have a backstory in any way? Well, you’ll just get to know after watching this movie.

IAS officer Chanchal, who is currently serving a prison sentence for the murder of her boyfriend Shakti, is the only one who has information about Ishwar Prasad.ACP Abhay organizes Chanchal’s interrogation at a haunted mansion where Chanchal becomes possessed by the soul of Durgamati on Sakshi’s orders.

The movie still gives me shivers when I think about it. This is probably the cinematography of the movie that leaves a lasting impact on the audience. A girl visits a house on a rainy, stormy night; the old woman offers her refuge but passes out when she learns of her.
Ten-year-old Shivangi, whose parents are Darshan and Priya, fight over taking her to the village to see her dying grandmother, who is the same old lady, sees a reflection in a well that she wasn’t expecting.
After arriving in the village, Shivani notices a girl in the home, and everything appears to be going according to plan. Finally, Satya Masi tells the story of an old community curse in which numerous female babies were cruelly abandoned in a well.
